Labuan Bajo is a port harbor with its main attraction, the Komodo Dragon. There are day tours that you can take: Komodo Island with five other stops and Rinca Island with 3 other stops. The harbor master closed Komodo Island for 7 days due to weather but Rinca Island was open. The snorkeling is phenomenal with purple, green coral that look like cauliflower and broccoli florets with many colorful fish. There is no need to book tours ahead. You can walk down to the dock area and book with any of the vendors selling packages. Even the LBJ airport has tours available.
We rented scooters to visit Rangko Cave and nearby Batu Cermin cave. The ride is beautiful and scenic. There is lots of seafood in this port town ranging from sea and lake fish, lobster, crab and squid.
Labuan is worth a three day visit.

I love it here.
I love it here. The people are so friendly, the food is very good, and the scenery is beautiful. You can book many trips, overland or to other islands, and of course see the Komodo dragon.
There are some beautiful beaches too.
I will come back again!

Great area, but the main attraction is the boat trips to visit the surrounding islands, beaches and Komodo dragons. We booked a 2d1n boat trip. We fitted in lots to this short itinerary but a extra night in the boat, as opposed to the land, would have been better.
Seemed more to do at the opposite side of the island but its too far for a day trip.
Great night market down by the port and lots of fresh fish and fruit available for sale.

It’s rare I’m writing reviews. So far, I shared only 5-6. I’m writing only if it was exceptionally amazing experience or a real disaster…
It’s the first time for me to share an extremely negative experience.
When you arrive at hotel, you expect me to feel minimum trust with it
I stayed for 2 nights in this budget hotel. Usually, people traveling to Flores Island to take one of the ‘Komodo island day trips’. They will be picked up very early in the morning (5:30-6:00am). The trip operator gives clear instructions of how to prepare? what to bring? Ect.
Due to the intensity of the day structure, the traveler has to bring a breakfast box (because it will be very long, before food can be in reach).
I asked the hotel manager if they can provide it to me? She confirmed, mentioning it’s a usual procedure in that area.
5:15 I arrived at the reception… no one was there. Neither the breakfast box.
Things can happen, it’s not a big deal…
When returning back from the day trip, I asked reception to shortly talk with the hotel manager, just to understand what happened? The hotel manager refused to communicate and just disappeared until I departed the next day.
I’ve never experienced before such a behavior, specially from a hotel manager…
It raised a big big Red Flag.
Bottom line: I’ll not recommend to arrive in this hotel. Basically, It’s not to be trusted.

Labuan Bajo needs to be careful with how many resorts they are throwing up all over the place. And educate everyone to stay away form the coral and do not touch the sea life. Float and observe. No fins necessary most of the time. You can float and see more and not damage the coral with big clumsy fins.

For those who love nature, I'm really recommend especially to the Island. Everything was soo nature and nice scenery. Spend at least 3 days as to ensure the place must be visited is captured. Local are soo friendly and helpfull. Don't forget to try snorkerlling if thats a trial for anyone.
Owner Gerri was super nice! He helped me out with a lot this being my first time in LaBaun Bajo. ie. the currency exchange, recommended some great restaurants and location was great right downtown! I did 3 days of diving and the 4th and final day was a half day. I really wanted to go see the Komodo Dragons but the regular trips that everyone goes with is too lengthy. Hotel Bajo (Gerri) helped me find a private charter to go directly to Rincha Island to see the dragons and made it back with more than enough time to catch my flight to Bali.
The room was really comfortable, clean and big. They served a different breakfast every day. The female staff were really friendly and helpful, I appreciated their honesty. The staff arranged some great tours, especially the day trip to Komodo and various islands. The location is ideal if you need to visit immigration to extend your visa or if you want to visit the nearby hills for a lovely view of Labuan Bajo. It sounds like the guesthouse has some good plans to improve the place further, such as installing hot water in the future
The owner helped me to rebook the flight ticket from Labuan Bajo to Denpasar.
He also give me positive signals after he had been on a meeting with
the tourist association and the boat owners regardiing the strike
to Komodo NP. The situation calmed down and I could return to the giant lizards,
31 years after I was there. Now I arranged the Komodo boat tour with a specialis
in that but the owner of this home stay helped me also to receive my transport
to the harbour and the boat. So I also here attach some photos from Komodo.
One of the cleanest places we have stayed at in the whole of Indonesia, the standard is what you expect in Europe , very modern rooms and bathroom , cleaned daily, the staff super helpful, let us store luggage the night before while we went on a road trip and organized our trip to Komodo island cheaper than doing it directly.
Good hot shower and comfortable bed and great aircon.
Would definitely recommend anyone to stay here as we looked at several around Labuan bajo and this was far better than anything we saw for the price
If you want to stay in the heart of Labuan Bajo this is the place!! Situated in a small alley of main street you are surrounded by the local people, I loved the Indonesian vibes, the kindness of the owners and the way they take care of their guests. Dormitory and bathroom facilities are clean and they have a super laundry service. Their annex hostel has a roof terrace with seaview and if you are lucky you see the most beautiful sunsets from there!
Wae molas is a calm and quiet hotel just off the main street of laboan bajo. It's the perfect base for day trips to Komodo and scuba trips etc. We stayed in both the deluxe double with a sea view and the double without a view and it is definitely worth booking the one with a sea view as the room without is a little dark and has no view. Overall a fantastic hotel and great value for money.
The location was super. Further from Labuan Bajo, so the taxi was needed but worht every penny!
The view was fantastic, swimming pool relaxing, looking at the sea.
The manager was very welcoming and helpful. We would like to return.
Julius, the driver, recommended by the hotel, was one of the best drivers we have ever had, absolutely helpful,
loving jokes and attentive.
The hotel have the best and exclusive view towards Labuan Bajo harbour. It is truly homey and comfortable, with quiet luxury. It is simple, but in everything they do, they done it right. Breakfast was delicious, bed is very comfortable and room is well maintained and clean. The pool is clean and the view is fantastic. What else can you ask for?
Nice view, clean and confirtable perfectly. Kind and helpful staffs.
Due to bad weather, the trip to Komodo island was cancelled unfortunately, but we can enjoy enough inside hotel because there are great facilities and lots of activities hosted by hotel. I would like to visit this hotel again to visit Komodo island in future.
Strategic location, you can reach the Labuan Bajo front water by walk about 5 minutes. Surrounding by local restaurant or you can get meal in the hotel's restaurant while enjoy the best scenery from the rooftop. You can rent electric bike in case would like to go around the city. Price are affordable.
Location, Breakfast, View, Staff is perfect. As Grab is not useful in the Labuan Bajo village and taxi quite expensive, the location of the hotel is just awesome, could walk to everywhere, harbour, Starbucks, restaurants, travel agency... And there's 360° view on the roof.
Good hotel to stay for a couple of days in Labuan Bajo. Staff is super friendly and attentive, they offer airport and harbour pick up/drop off wich is great and the breakfast is yummy with different options to try.
Rooms are spacious and just as shown in the pictures.
my favorite location in labuan Bajo. like the remote location with it’s tranquility. don't mind the steps up and down. now the road is proper, still 80m down/up from road to lobby.
The staf, Pak Ronald, is very caring, helpful and friendly.
food is great.
Best accomodation in Labuan Bajo.
Valerie and her family are very kind and super helpful.
The room was really clean, minimal, modern and very comfortable.
I couldn't ask for more, when it comes to accommodation, excellent, highly recommend!!
Amazing roof top with a view to the Labuan Bajo Port. You can stay just chillin’, drinking and eating in the pool and enjoying in the view.
Clean room and happy staff. We stayed only for 1 day and it was a very good experience.
The hotel is located near the harbour and there are many restaurants nearby. There's also a rooftop restaurant which offers good services and food. It's good for staying while taking the boat trip to Komodo.
Good location. Room is nice and very clean. Friendly and helpful staff. Very good cafe downstairs.
We will stay at Puu Pau again if we return to Labuan Bajo.
I think it's the best hotel in Bajo. Best sunset view from room or the roof top restaurant. It has a rooftop pool over looking the ocean. Highly recommend 👍
